Delhi: CBSE Class 10 Exams to Be Held Twice a Year Starting 2026

New Delhi, June 25: In a significant move aimed at reducing academic pressure on students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a new examination pattern for Class 10. Starting from the year 2026, the board will conduct Class 10 board exams twice a year.

As per the new policy, the first phase of the exam will be held in February and attendance will be mandatory for all students. The second phase, scheduled for May, will be optional. Students who wish to improve their scores from the first attempt will be allowed to appear for the second exam.

This decision has been taken in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), with the objective of reducing stress on students and providing them with more flexibility.

CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that the results for the first phase will be declared in April, while the second phase results will be released in June.
