Bollywood:
According to an exclusive source, actress Sai Pallavi was also among the contenders for the iconic role of Madhubala in the upcoming biopic being developed by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The role has ultimately gone to Kiara Advani, but sources reveal that Sai Pallavi was seriously considered during the casting process.
Bhansali was reportedly keen on casting a relatively fresh face who could convincingly embody the timeless charm and screen presence of Madhubala. Sai Pallavi emerged as a strong candidate for the role, particularly because of her limited exposure in Bollywood, which aligned well with the filmmaker’s vision of presenting the legendary actress with a sense of novelty and authenticity.
However, discussions between the makers and Sai Pallavi did not progress in favour of the actress joining the project. While insiders have remained tight-lipped about the exact reasons behind the development, industry speculation suggests that scheduling conflicts may have played a role. Sai Pallavi is currently committed to several major projects, including the highly anticipated epic Ramayana, which could have resulted in unavoidable date clashes.
Although she will not be portraying Madhubala in the biopic, the fact that Sai Pallavi was considered for such a prestigious role underscores the growing recognition of her acting prowess across the Indian film industry.
