Hyderabad; “Mom Isn’t Dead Yet…Let’s Finish Her Off”…

Hyderabad: In a chilling case that has sent shockwaves across Telangana, a minor girl studying in 10th standard has been arrested for plotting and participating in the brutal murder of her own mother, Anjali. The incident occurred in Jeedimetla, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. What has stunned many even further is the fact that the girl is the great-granddaughter of Chakali Ilamma, the legendary Telangana armed struggle revolutionary.

According to details unearthed during the police investigation, the girl had been in a relationship for the past eight months with a youth named Shiva from Nalgonda. When Anjali came to know about this relationship, she scolded her daughter, saying that a tenth-grade girl should not be thinking about love. Following this, about a week ago, the girl ran away with Shiva but returned home just three days before the crime.

As per the police, the girl and Shiva, angered by Anjali’s opposition to their relationship, conspired to eliminate her. Following their plan, Shiva arrived from Nalgonda on the evening of the murder. At the time, Anjali was engaged in prayer. Shiva attacked her from behind and suffocated her using a bedsheet. Shockingly, the girl herself struck her mother on the head with a hammer, and then Shiva’s younger brother, Yashwanth, slit Anjali’s throat with a knife, killing her on the spot.

The gruesome details were further corroborated by Tejasri’s younger sister Priya, who witnessed the aftermath and provided a disturbing statement to the police. Priya revealed that her sister had stopped her near their lane while she was returning from tuition. “My sister told me mom had asked her to bring an aunty and asked me to come along,” she said.

“About 20 minutes later, when we returned home, our mother was already lying unconscious in the kitchen. My sister told me not to panic and asked me to go outside and bring a neighbor or friend, but warned me not to tell anyone what had happened.”

Priya’s statement became even more horrifying when she disclosed that her sister, realizing their mother was still alive, called Shiva again. “She told him that mom wasn’t dead yet her hands and legs were still moving. Then Shiva and Yashwanth came back, hit her again on the head with a hammer, and only left after confirming she was dead,” Priya recounted.

“I arrived at the scene and saw my mom lying in a pool of blood. I tried shaking her, rubbing her hands, hoping to wake her up. But my sister didn’t even come close. She just said, ‘She’s dead, there’s no point trying.’”

The incident, involving such cold-blooded planning by a minor  and her connection to a freedom fighter has deeply disturbed citizens and authorities alike. Investigations are ongoing.
