Hyderabad, July 7:
In a significant crackdown on corruption, officials from the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have arrested Shaik Javeed, Deputy Tahsildar currently serving in the Civil Supplies department at Miryalguda, under the District Civil Supplies Officer (DCSO), Nalgonda District.The arrest was made in connection with a case registered on June 7, 2025, wherein Javeed was accused of demanding a bribe of ₹1,00,000, which he later agreed to reduce to ₹70,000. The bribe was allegedly sought for conducting a Panchanama of three seized vehicles—a mandatory step to facilitate the release of the vehicles through court orders.
Following due surveillance and verification, the ACB officials apprehended the official while accepting the bribe amount. A formal investigation is now underway.
