Hyderabad: In a significant development, the Ranga Reddy District Consumer Forum has issued notices to Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu in connection with a complaint filed against Sai Surya Developers. The petitioners have named Mahesh Babu as the third respondent in the case.
According to the complaint, the victims alleged that they were misled by promotional brochures featuring Mahesh Babu endorsing a real estate project by Sai Surya Developers. Believing the advertisements to be credible, the complainants stated that they paid ₹34.8 lakh for a residential plot in Balapur.
However, they later discovered that the proposed layout did not exist. Upon demanding a refund, the developers allegedly returned only ₹15 lakh, prompting the victims to seek legal recourse.
The Consumer Forum, taking cognizance of the allegations, has directed Mahesh Babu and the real estate firm’s representatives to appear for a hearing. The complainants are seeking justice and full compensation for the financial and emotional distress caused by the alleged misrepresentation.
