Thiruvananthapuram, July 7:
Kerala has once again been rocked by the re-emergence of the deadly Nipah virus, with two confirmed fatalities reported in the state. Health Minister Veena George officially announced that two individuals who contracted the virus have succumbed to the infection.

In response, the state health department has placed 383 people, who came into contact with the infected individuals, under strict observation. Of these, 16 have been admitted to hospitals for further evaluation and treatment.

Minister Veena George emphasized the government’s swift response, stating that all precautionary and containment measures have been activated. The state is actively tracing contacts, increasing surveillance, and ramping up healthcare infrastructure in the affected areas.

The Kerala government has urged the public to remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines. It has also issued a cautionary note regarding the possible transmission of Nipah through contaminated food, advising people to be cautious about what they consume.
